Content pillar planner

What's inside

  • Question collection sheet
  • A simple scoring method
  • A worked example

Content pillars are the recurring themes every post fits into. Good ones come from the questions customers already ask, not from what the brand wants to say.

Four steps

  1. Collect 20 to 30 real questions from calls, DMs, reviews and sales conversations.
  2. Group questions that share an answer. Each group is a candidate pillar.
  3. Score every group from 1 to 5 on how often it comes up and how close it is to a sale.
  4. Keep the three to five highest-scoring groups and name them in plain words.

A worked example

A med spa collecting questions might end up with these pillars:

  • Results: what a treatment really looks like before and after.
  • Safety: who does the treatment and how it is done.
  • Cost and value: what affects the price and what is included.
  • Aftercare: what to expect in the first days.

Using the sheet

The download has one row per question with columns for the group, both scores and the total. Sort by the total and the pillars pick themselves.
